IPP proposes division of all provinces including Balochistan

LAHORE: The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has demanded the creation of new provinces by dividing the country’s four existing provinces into smaller administrative units.

During a meeting chaired by IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, recommendations for establishing new provinces were presented.

The session was attended by Awn Chaudhry, IPP Punjab President Rana Nazir Ahmad, and other senior members.

According to the party’s statement, each of the four provinces — Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan — should be split into three separate provinces. The IPP’s Central Committee has already passed a resolution in favor of this demand.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Aleem Khan said that with the rapid growth of population, the creation of new provinces has become inevitable.

He proposed dividing each province into North, South, and Central regions under the same provincial identity.

He emphasized that the establishment of new provinces would strengthen national stability and improve the economy, adding that despite 25 years of debate, the issue has only been politicized without concrete steps.

Aleem Khan further said that new provinces would bring governance closer to the people, allowing citizens traveling long distances to provincial secretariats to find relief.

He added that high courts, chief secretaries, and inspectors general in newly created provinces would be able to function more effectively, ensuring that citizens’ grievances are resolved at their doorstep.
