QUETTA: The Price Control Committee of the district administration has launched strict action against profiteering shopkeepers in different parts of the provincial capital.
According to details, the Price Control Committee carried out inspections in Sariab, Saddar, City, and Kuchlak areas of Quetta. During the inspections more than 100 shops were inspected and arrested 30 shopkeepers, 10 shops were sealed and 14 people were sent to jail.
Similarly, fines worth a total of 50,000 rupees were imposed on 25 shopkeepers for violating the rule and receiving over charges on the items.

The district administration said these actions will continue to provide relief to the public and to put an end to illegal profiteering.
