Chinese firm eyes on establishing maritime complex in Pakistan

Islamabad – The well-known Chinese company Shandong Xinzhuo Group Corporation has expressed strong interest in setting up a Maritime Industrial Complex in Pakistan.

On Wednesday, a delegation from the company met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, where detailed discussions were held on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan and China have always stood by each other in difficult times.

Inviting Chinese industries to invest in Pakistan, he said the government is eager to take economic relations with China to new heights.

He assured that every possible facility will be extended to Chinese companies for the establishment of Special Economic Zones.

The Chairman of Shandong Xinzhuo Group thanked the Prime Minister for the government’s support and facilitation.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Pakistan possesses vast potential in the ship-breaking and ship-recycling sectors.

The Chinese firm plans to build a green ship-breaking yard in Pakistan based on eco-friendly technology.

In addition, the group expressed interest in utilizing Pakistan’s potential in fisheries, fish processing, and date processing industries.
