Heavy rains expected in Balochistan and other areas

ISLAMABAD:  Heavy rain is forecasted across the country including areas of Balochitsan. According to the report, from 19th to 22nd August, there will be heavy rains in Balochistan and Sindh.

In Balochistan’s area of Quetta, Loralai, Khuzdar, and Sibbi. Similarly, Sindh’s area of Karachi, Badin, Hyderabad and Thatha will also be hit by some heavy rain showers.

There is rains forecast in Punjab’s area of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sargodha and the surrounding areas.

In KP, there is a rain forecast in Peshawar, Abbot Abad, Swat, Dir, Mansehra, and other areas from 19th to 22nd August.

The low-lying areas of Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Karachi are endangered of being flooded.

There is a forecast of rising water levels in streams, canals, and rivers, with the possibility of urban flooding in Balochistan and Sindh, while landslides are feared in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

The administration has instructed all relevant departments to remain on alert and advised tourists and travelers to exercise caution.

Farmers have also been urged to protect their crops and goods kept in open spaces from potential rain damage.
