Deadline for registered Afghan citizens to return set for August 31

ISLAMABAD: The final deadline for registered Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan to return to their homeland has been set for August 31.

The Ministry of SAFRON has provided complete data to provincial and district committees. Arrangements to terminate registrations at border terminals have been finalized, with biometric verification declared mandatory.

According to officials, Afghan citizens holding Proof of Registration (PoR) cards must return by August 31.

The Ministry of SAFRON has shared all relevant data with provincial and district committees to ensure smooth implementation.

Border terminals have been equipped for the cancellation of registrations upon departure.

Reports indicate that the Ministry of Interior has issued a comprehensive action plan for repatriation to provincial authorities.

Biometric verification has been made compulsory for all returning Afghan nationals.

Provincial governments and security agencies have completed mapping of PoR cardholders, while district and provincial committees have been linked to a central control room.

Transit areas have also been designated and transportation plans finalized to facilitate the process.

Furthermore, after August 31, NADRA will officially terminate the registration of Afghans returning to their country.

FIA will provide facilitation at designated border crossing points, while the Foreign National Security Dashboard will monitor the repatriation of Afghan PoR cardholders.
