UPPER KURRAM: A Station House Officer (SHO) was killed in a terrorist attack in Upper Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
According to details, security forces and police launched a joint operation against the banned Shia militant outfit, Zeynabiyoun Brigade, in the district.
The operation was carried out on an intelligence tip-off targeting Abid Hussain alias Tehran Turi, a key commander of the Zeynabiyoun Brigade in the region.
During the operation, SHO Qaiser Hussain was killed by gunfire from nearby towers used by the outfit.
In the chaos of explosions, Tehran Turi and around 20 Zeynabiyoun militants managed to escape.
