QUETTA: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has seized a large quantity of counterfeit and substandard spices being sold under the name of the well-known brand National, in provincial capital of Balochistan.
According to details, the BFA team conducted operation in the areas of New Adda and Satellite Town in Quetta, where two wholesale traders were found supplying the fake products of the well-known brand.
While talking to local media, BFA Director of Operations, Muhammad Riaz Nasir said that the raid was carried out following a tip-off and thousands of packets of fake spices were recovered from the premises of the two traders.
Initial investigations exposed that the fake products were being transported from other provinces to provincial capital of the province and then distributed across various cities in Balochistan.

In response to the violation of food safety laws and the sale of counterfeit goods, both wholesale outlets were immediately sealed by the BFA.
Muhammad Riaz Nasir further said that individuals involved in the production and distribution of fake and harmful food products, including spices, are under the close watch of the authority.
