QUETTA: The Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti observed Youm-e-Istehsal (Kashmir Siege Day) to celebrate five years since India revoked the special constitutional status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on August 5, 2019.
The day was commemorated with renewed resolve to stand with the Kashmiri people in their legitimate struggle for self-determination and to condemn the ongoing Indian atrocities in the region.
In this sense, various events, seminars, and rallies will be organised across the country by government institutions, civil society, and political parties to mention the continuing human rights violations in IIOJK and to express unity with the Kashmiri brethren.
So far, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in their separate messages, reasserted Pakistan’s constant support for the Kashmiri people.
The Foreign Office also released a strong statement condemning the Indian government’s continued efforts to suppress the Kashmiri population through military lockdowns, enforced disappearances, demographic engineering, and curbs on media and political freedoms.
