ISLAMABAD: Several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were exchanged between Pakistan and Iran to strengthen bilateral ties.
A MoU was exchanged between Iran’s Minister of Commerce and Pakistan’s Minister for National Food Security.
Another MoU was signed between Federal Minister Khalid Magsi and the Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam.
Furthermore, the Minister of State for Finance and Railways from Pakistan and the Iranian Foreign Minister signed an MoU, while another agreement was exchanged between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT, Shaza Fatima, and the Iranian counterpart.
Both countries also exchanged MoUs focused on promoting cultural relations, cooperation in the maritime sector, and climate-related collaboration.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran’s stance on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, stating that Pakistan stands firmly with Iran on this matter.
In addition, delegations from the two brotherly Islamic nations signed MoUs related to legal affairs, internal security, and civil aviation services.
Agreements were also signed to enhance product quality and promote cooperation in tourism and public services.
During a joint press conference with the Iranian President, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that numerous MoUs had been signed and expressed the hope that they would soon turn into formal agreements.

He also revealed that Pakistan and Iran have set a target of achieving $10 billion in bilateral trade
