QUETTA: At least 431 Afghan nationals were deported by the Balochistan government in a single day as the authorities accelerated the repatriation process of undocumented Afghan refugees.
While talking to local news outlet, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Meherullah Badini has said that the grace period previously granted to holders of Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC) and Proof of Registration (PoR) cards has now officially ended. As a result, the law enforcement forces have launched a phased crackdown against those staying illegally in the country.
DC said that 267 Afghan nationals were detained in two days, adding that legal procedures for their deportation are currently underway. He confirmed that the identification and arrest of undocumented Afghan refugees will continue in phases.
DC Badini further said that the district administration and security agencies are working in close coordination to ensure that the process remains within legal bounds.
He clarified that illegal residence will no longer be tolerated.

Amid the rising public demands and pressure, the authorities launched to regulate undocumented populations, particularly in border provinces like Balochistan, where the burden on public services has intensified.
