QUETTA: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan has completed a wide range of preparations to tackle potential emergencies arising from the upcoming monsoon rains, ensuring province-wide readiness to mitigate risk and respond swiftly. Director Faisal Tariq, all preventive and preparatory measures have been implemented in accordance with the special directives of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.
As far as the preventive measures are concerned, to maintain full operational capacity, all staff leave has been cancelled. So far, a 24/7 monitoring and response mechanism has been activated to ensure real-time surveillance and immediate action wherever required.
The PDMA has strategically deployed heavy machinery to districts deemed vulnerable to flash floods and other weather-induced challenges. The PDMA has established six newly constructed divisional headquarters.
These centers are now operational and will be stocked with essential relief supplies to facilitate rapid deployment. PDMA has urged the public to remain vigilant and follow official guidelines during the monsoon season.
