QUETTA: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory forecasting rain-wind/thundershowers with scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall in various parts of Balochistan, particularly in the northeastern and southern districts, from July 14 to July 16.
As per the Met Office, areas expected to be impacted include Quetta, Zhob, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Ziarat, Sherani, Musakhel, Loralai, Sibi, Bolan, Barkhan, Naseerabad, Kalat, Lasbela, Khuzdar, Awaran, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, and Kohlu.
The PMD has cautioned residents and local authorities to remain alert during the forecast period, as heavy downpours may disrupt daily life, damage infrastructure, and affect transportation, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of the concerned regions have been instructed to monitor weather developments closely and coordinate with the Met Office and PDMA.
Farmers have also been advised to take precautionary measures to safeguard their crops and livestock from potential losses due to heavy rainfall and strong winds.
The PMD will continue to monitor the evolving weather conditions and issue timely updates. Citizens are encouraged to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with local authorities to minimize the impact of the inclement weather.
Moreover, rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, with scattered heavy to very heavy and at times extremely heavy downpours, is expected across various regions of Punjab and the federal capital from the evening of July 14 to July 17, with intermittent breaks in between.
