LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has strongly slammed what she termed as “hypocritical silence” from self-proclaimed human rights advocates over the continued bloodshed in Balochistan.
She said in a press conference, she questioned the absence of national and international outcry over the daily killings of innocent civilians in the province, calling the selective outrage both disturbing and shameful.
Furthermore, the minister stressed that the people of Punjab stand in complete solidarity with the oppressed citizens of Balochistan, who face the brunt of terrorist violence on a near-daily basis.
She acknowledged the ongoing counterterrorism operations in the province and underlined the need for decisive, uncompromising action against those destabilizing Pakistan’s peace.
In this regard, Bukhari’s remarks come at a time when Balochistan remains plagued by a surge in militant attacks targeting civilians and security personnel alike.
