Earlier this week, a group of terrorists and security forces conducted a counter-terrorism operation and killed at least eight terrorists of Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, at least 12 terrorists were also injured in the operation, launched after a security official’s vehicle was targeted in the Mamund Tehsil, Bajaur district.
The clashes with terrorists, infiltrating from Afghanistan, were reported in at least three areas of Mamund Tehsil.
Local sources reported that gunship helicopters had been hovering over the area since the morning. The area of operation is identified as one of those where a video of TTP affiliates had appeared a few days back, seen mixing with the local population.
A security official said that this morning a block party of the paramilitary forces was targeted by an explosive device, in which four soldiers were injured. Video and pictures of the residents travelling on the road showed damaged vehicles.
