Heavy rains claim 11 lives, damage 47 houses in Balochistan

QUTTA: At least 11 people, including women and children, have died in rain-related incidents across Balochistan since June 28. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released this report on Thursday.

The report highlights widespread damage caused by monsoon rains and flash floods in several districts. A child died and a man was injured when a wall collapsed in Khuzdar during heavy rain. Other fatalities occurred in Zhob, Ziarat, Musakhel, Loralai, Lasbela, and Kohlu.

The PDMA said at least eight people have suffered injuries in various rain-related accidents.

Floodwaters and heavy rain have damaged 47 houses across the province. In Khuzdar alone, five houses were affected in the past 24 hours. Of the total, eight homes were completely destroyed while 39 were partially damaged.

Relief teams are on the ground. Rescue operations are ongoing. The PDMA confirmed that authorities are assessing the damage and providing support to displaced families.
