QUETTA: The Indian-funded banned terrorists groups have been found engaging in economic terrorism in Balochistan. These groups are reportedly using smuggling and extortion as strategic tools to sabotage economic development and destabilize the region.
According to security officials, these anti-state elements are not only promoting large-scale cross-border smuggling but are also extorting local contractors and traders, thereby paralyzing developmental activities in various districts.
The analyst said that these illegal smuggling and extortion are equivalent to attacking the economic lifeline of Balochistan, adding that such acts have weakened the local economy, disrupted public welfare projects, and worsened the law and order situation.
The use of economic disruption as a weapon reflects a calculated attempt to exploit local grievances and hinder progress in Balochistan. These groups, often backed by foreign intelligence agencies, are intentionally undermining public trust in the government by targeting businesses and development schemes.
Authorities have vowed to take decisive action against all such networks.
