QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, congratulated on Tuesday elected newly elected provincial leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Yesterday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced a new leadership team for the party’s Balochistan chapter.
The Chief Minister, in a statement, stated that the appointments of Sardar Umar Gorgaij as Provincial President, Rabbani Kakar as General Secretary, and Mir Zahoor Buledi as Information Secretary are commendable steps. He said that the organisation of political parties in Balochistan is a sign of a strong democracy.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that continuity in political leadership plays a vital role in restoring public trust. He expressed hope that the new leadership would play an effective role in addressing the issues faced by the people of Balochistan. Promoting democratic traditions, he noted, is a shared responsibility.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to think beyond political affiliations and prioritize the interests of Balochistan. He called for fostering an environment of political tolerance, patience, and mutual cooperation. He added that encouraging political workers would further strengthen the democratic system.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti remarked that Sardar Umar Gorgej is known as a serious, pragmatic, and people-friendly leader. He said that the organizational responsibilities entrusted to Rabani Kakar and Mir Zahoor Buledi would further strengthen the party structure.
He expressed confidence that the new team would succeed in serving the public and promoting political awareness.
