ISLAMABAD: Mufti Noor Ahmad Noor, Director General of the First Political Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, called on Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Amna Baloch, following the successful conclusion of the inaugural round of Pakistan-Afghanistan Political Consultations held in Islamabad.
In this sense, the high-level diplomatic engagement aimed to foster mutual understanding, deepen political cooperation, and explore avenues for increased collaboration across various sectors.
During the meeting, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch underlined the importance of sustained and structured dialogue between the two neighbouring countries. She reasserted Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan, focusing on that close political coordination and regular engagement are vital to advancing shared objectives.
The Afghan delegation, led by Mufti Noor Ahmad Noor, appreciated Pakistan’s continued support and reasserted Kabul’s interest in strengthening diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people ties.

He conveyed Afghanistan’s willingness to work closely with Pakistan on matters of mutual interest, particularly those linked to cross-border connectivity and regional development.
The two sides confirmed their resolve to advance cooperation in areas such as trade facilitation, transit routes, counter-terrorism, and border management.
The Foreign Secretary also mentioned the importance of collaborative efforts to counter common threats and promote lasting peace in the region. She stressed Pakistan’s desire to work with all stakeholders in Afghanistan to build trust and further increase bilateral cooperation through diplomatic mechanisms.
