Shahid Rind: Govt revises security measures following Mastung incident

QUETTA: Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind, has revealed that the militants of Indian-backed Fitna-al-Hindustan has looted a total of Rs. 40 million from local banks in Mastung, adding that banks generally rely on private security, but the government is now taking additional steps to enhance the protection of financial institutions alongside public infrastructure.

While addressing to a press conference, Shahid Rind emphasized that the government’s swift response and reaffirming its commitment to maintaining security across the province. He said that for a brief moment, the Mastung attack created an impression that terrorist elements had re-established their influence in the region. However, the government acted immediately by revisiting its security plan and intensifying counterterrorism efforts.

Rind confirmed that in the retaliatory action by security forces, four terrorists involved in the Mastung attack were eliminated.

He also shared that the recent provincial budget includes the formation of the District Coordination and Control (DCC) Forum, aimed at improving administrative coordination. He dismissed rumors about deputy commissioners being given Project Director (PD) roles.

Rind reaffirmed the government’s commitment to law and order, saying that every necessary measure is being implemented to secure both public and private assets across Balochistan.
