QUETTA: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall from July 4 to 8 in 20 districts of Balochistan and issued warning of potential flash floods and travel disruptions. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert for widespread monsoon rains in Balochistan.
Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that the districts of Balochistan likely to be affected include Sherani, Zhob, Ziarat, Musakhel, Duki, Loralai, Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, Naseerabad, Usta Muhammad, Kalat, Lasbela, Surab, Khuzdar, Awaran, Sohbatpur, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, and Kohlu.
The PDMA has advised the citizens and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from dams, streams, and picnic spots during the announced period due to the risk of flash flooding in these areas.

Heavy rains on Thursday afternoon in Kohlu’s Kahan-Jandran area led to flooding in Gar-Daogh stream, submerging nearby low-lying areas and creating significant difficulties for locals trying to move between locations.
Local administrations were directed to remain on high alert and ensure that emergency response teams and relief equipment are ready to handle any potential flooding or landslides.
