Tania Bazai questions intentions of Baloch Yekjehti Committee

ISLAMABAD: Analyst Tania Bazai stated that if the Baloch Yekjehti Committee truly cared about the rights of the Baloch people, they would have condemned the killing of every individual.

She mentioned during her appearance on Buraq Digital’s podcast that around seventy to eighty people have been martyred, yet not a single death has been condemned by the committee.

Now, she said, they are making a fuss over Zeeshan Zaheer, who had gone to the mountains in 2015 and was  involved in anti-state indoctrination of the youth.

They immediately blamed the state for his death, but one must question—who truly benefited from his death? What possible gain could the state have had from his demise?

Tania Bazai further said that these groups are damaging public property in Balochistan, destroying their own land and resources.

She questioned whether these people have ever advocated for employment, education, healthcare, or development for the Baloch. “We talk about these issues,” she said.

“We say the Baloch need schools, jobs, hospitals, and other essential services.” But these people never raise such concerns. Instead, they merely chant slogans for an “Independent Balochistan” and use underdevelopment as an excuse. “Isn’t there backwardness in Punjab or Sindh? Even in Islamabad, there are people who can’t afford two meals a day. But they’ve never taken up arms or shouted anti-state slogans,” she added.

According to her, this proves the issue isn’t underdevelopment—it’s ill intention, and the goal is to support anti-state agendas.
