QUETTA: The recent statement issued by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), claiming that Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s detention is “illegal,” has been categorically rejected by official sources, who maintain that her custody was extended in full compliance with Pakistani law, particularly under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance (3MPO).
As per the verified sources confirmed that Dr. Baloch’s detention was sanctioned under Section 3 of the 3MPO Act a legal provision designed to prevent threats to public peace and order.

The BYC’s allegations were misleading and labeled by legal experts as “factually incorrect, legally baseless, and deeply misleading.
The spokesperson focused on that freedom of expression is protected under the Constitution, but it does not extend to actions that incite violence, disrupt public order, or challenge state institutions unlawfully.
