Terrorists set fire to truck in Dalbandin's Peshak area over extortion refusal

QUETTA: Terrorists targeted a local livelihood in the Peshak area of Dalbandin by setting fire to a truck and its valuable cargo after the driver reportedly refused to pay extortion money.

According to reports, the armed militants who demanded bhatta (protection money) from the truck driver but he refused to pay the extortion money. The assailants torched the vehicle along with the goods it was carrying, inflicting heavy financial losses.

The local residents have condemned the attack, stating that this was not merely an act against one individual, but an attack on the entire local economy that depends heavily on transportation and trade.

They added that the terrorists are not freedom fighters; they are bandits and only destroying the sources of income of the local people by such acts.

Authorities have yet to make arrests, and an investigation is underway.
