CTD officer arrested in Balochistan for embezzling government weapons and ammunition

QUETTA: Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Majeed, in-charge of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Nasirabad Range, has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Establishment Balochistan, on charges of embezzling government weapons and ammunition worth millions of rupees.

According to details, on the directives of Director General Anti-Corruption Abdul Wahid Kakar, the Anti-Corruption team carried out a operation against the senior officials of the CTD Balochistan Police.

The investigation was led by Deputy Director Investigation Azeem Anjum Humbi and Assistant Director Investigation Abdul Qayyum, who registered a case after completing a full inquiry.

According to the initial investigations the accused ASI Abdul Majeed was involved in the embezzlement and tampering of government weapons, ammunition, and other items, causing a loss of millions of rupees to the national treasury. During the interrogation, the accused also disclosed the involvement of other officials.

According to Anti-Corruption authorities, further arrests are expected, and a special team has been formed to apprehend all involved individuals and recover the stolen government property.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment Balochistan has reaffirmed its commitment to taking indiscriminate action against corrupt elements and ensuring the protection of public resources.
