ANF seized a major drugs haul in Balochistan and other areas

Quetta: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a series of operations in Balochistan and other parts of the country, seizing a large quantity of narcotics and arresting eight suspects, including women.

These operations were carried out in Quetta, Panjgur, and several other cities.

According to officials, 2,292.41 kilograms of drugs were recovered during seven separate raids. The seized drugs included 111 kg of heroin, 94.5 kg of hashish, 83.4 kg of opium, and 3.51 kg of ice (methamphetamine).

ANF spokesperson stated that these operations were not limited to Balochistan but also took place in Sialkot, Shikarpur, and Lahore.

Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act. The ANF reiterated its commitment to eliminating drugs from the country through indiscriminate and ongoing operations.

Over the past ten years, Balochistan has remained a significant transit route for drug trafficking due to its geographic location bordering Afghanistan and Iran.

Major drug seizures have been reported regularly by the ANF, Frontier Corps, and customs authorities, especially in areas like Chagai, Panjgur, and Makran.

These included large quantities of heroin, opium, and hashish. From 2015 to 2025, thousands of kilograms of narcotics have been confiscated during various operations, with many arrests made, including foreign nationals.
