Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s missing son safely returns home

GWADAR: The missing son of Balochistan Assembly member Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman has returned home safely in Gwadar. His family confirmed the news to the police.

Abdul Basit went missing yesterday from the Saudabad area of Malir, Karachi. He has now reunited with his family. Police registered a missing person case at the Saudabad Police Station on the complaint of his grandfather, Mohammad Adam.

The complaint stated that Abdul Basit and his brother, Abdul Wahab, were studying at a madrassa in Saudabad. Abdul Basit, a 7th-grade student, had been under mental stress due to studies. He had expressed a desire to leave the madrassa.

According to the complaint, the madrassa dismissed students after Asr prayers. Abdul Basit did not return home afterward.

Earlier, the family had reported him missing. They said Abdul Basit was supposed to visit his uncle in Manghopir. He neither reached his uncle’s home nor returned to the seminary.

Police officials confirmed no formal FIR was filed initially. However, they remained in touch with the family and assisted in the search.

Sindh Chief Minister took notice of the matter. He asked the Inspector General of Sindh Police for a detailed report on the incident.
