RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan, successfully eliminating eleven militants associated with the Khawarij group. During the intense exchange of fire, Major Moeez Abbas Shah and Lance Naik Jibraanullah embraced martyrdom while bravely leading the operation.
According to ISPR, Major Moeez Abbas Shah personally led the mission which targeted the group known for being supported by hostile foreign elements, including India.
In addition to the eleven killed, seven militants were injured during the operation. The terrorists were involved in attacks against both security forces and civilians.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosive material were recovered from the eliminated militants.
The martyred Major Moeez Abbas Shah hailed from Chakwal and was known for his bravery in counter-terrorism operations, while Lance Naik Jibraanullah belonged to Bannu.
ISPR stated that these sacrifices further strengthen the nation’s resolve for lasting peace.
The operation site remains under surveillance as clearance operations continue.
In recent years, security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in tribal districts like South Waziristan, have intensified operations against Khawarij-linked militant factions.
These groups, often backed by foreign intelligence networks, aim to destabilize the region through targeted violence.

However, Pakistan’s military and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eradicating terrorism and have conducted several successful intelligence-based operations, resulting in the elimination of high-profile targets and the dismantling of their infrastructure.
