WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump has declared that Israel and Iran have reached a ceasefire agreement, bringing what he calls “The 12-Day War” to an official end within the next 24 hours.
In this sense, he released a statement via Truth Social, Trump announced that both nations had “fully agreed” to halt hostilities, describing the resolution as a diplomatic breakthrough. He outlined that Iran would initiate the ceasefire, followed by Israel 12 hours later.
The full cessation of conflict is expected to be recognized officially after 24 hours.
“It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total ceasefire in approximately 6 hours from now… for 12 hours, at which point the war will be considered, ended,” Trump stated.
Furthermore, he further expressed optimism that the ceasefire would be upheld with mutual “peace and respect” between both nations.
Trump commended the leadership of Israel and Iran, calling their decision a courageous and intelligent step toward peace in the region.
“On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both countries… on having the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end what should be called ‘The 12-Day War’,” he added.

Trump focused on the global significance of the ceasefire, suggesting the conflict had the potential to escalate and destabilize the entire Middle East. “This is a war that could have gone on for years… but it didn’t, and never will,” he concluded.
