Younis Zehri demands a timely release of Balochistan's funds

QUETTA: Federal Government Must Release Balochistan’s Funds to Improve Provincial Conditions, says  Mir Younis Aziz Zehri.

Opposition Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Younis Aziz Zehri, has urged the federal government to release the province’s due funds to help improve its overall condition.

Speaking to the media in Quetta, he pointed out that although the provincial budget has been presented, the projected revenue remains insufficient.

He emphasized the need to boost internal revenue and called on the federal government to fulfill its financial obligations to Balochistan.

He noted discrepancies in the surplus figures mentioned in the budget, stating that while the finance minister claimed a surplus of Rs. 36 billion, their own data suggests the figure stands at Rs. 52 billion.

Zehri highlighted that Rs. 16.15 billion have been allocated for development, but sectors like health and agriculture have been underfunded.

He also criticized the lack of clarity regarding budget spending procedures, stressing the need for transparent and effective utilization.

Zehri further stated that over Rs. 1 trillion is spent on education, yet the results do not reflect this investment.
