QUETTA: The 37th Country Engagement Working Group (CEWG) meeting began today in Quetta. The two-day event runs from June 17–18, 2025. It is jointly organized by the Federal Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, and UNFPA. The Population Welfare Department, Balochistan, is hosting the national event.
On the first day, a Sub-Group Meeting was held. Mr. Abdullah Khan, Secretary, Population Welfare Department, Balochistan, chaired the session. Participants included the Secretary of Population Welfare, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, senior officials from the Federal Health Ministry, and representatives from AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Ms. Mela from UNFPA Islamabad also attended.
The group discussed ways to strengthen Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FP/RH) services. They focused on interprovincial coordination, sharing best practices, and using technical assistance. Members reviewed challenges, success stories, and new opportunities. They stressed the need to align FP/RH efforts with national goals and ensure equal access in all regions.
