Major terror bid foiled in Tank, 40-kg IED defused in time

TANK: The major terror attack was averted when security forces, along with police and the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), successfully defused a 40-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED) in District Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The powerful explosive device was discovered along the Nasran-Tajori Road, a route frequently used by security convoys.

In this sense, a joint operation was swiftly launched by security forces. The Bomb Disposal Unit cordoned off the area and executed a controlled defusal of the device, preventing what could have been a devastating explosion.

Furthermore, there are local sources and security officials suspect the involvement of the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned militant outfit often referred to as a proxy element operating against Pakistan’s national interests.

The TTP, widely believed to be supported by hostile foreign agencies, has been responsible for a series of deadly attacks across KP and Balochistan.

The timely response of law enforcement agencies has been widely praised, with security officials reasserting their commitment to protecting civilian lives and neutralizing threats posed by insurgent groups.
