QUETTA: The Meteorological Department has predicted a heat wave during the Eid holidays. The public are advised to take precautionary measures, avoid going out in direct sunlight.
According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of heat will also increase in other areas of the province. Temperatures are likely to remain extremely hot during the days of Eid-ul-Azha. The districts of Sibi, Naseerabad, Usta Muhammad, Sohbatpur, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Daki, Harnai, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Chaghi, Washuk, Kharan and Kech are likely to remain 07 to 08 degrees above normal.
Quetta, Khuzdar, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Muslim Bagh, Pishin, Loralai, Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel and Sherani will also experience a temperature increase of 05 to 06 degrees Celsius above normal.
Excessive heat and rising temperatures can cause dust storms and wind in Chaghi. Dusty winds are also expected in Washik, Kharan, Kech, Panjgur and eastern lowlands (Sibi and Naseerabad divisions, Quetta, Sorab, Mastung, Noshki and surrounding areas.
Strong sea breezes are likely to prevail over the coastal belt (Jiwani, Gwadar, Pasni and Ormara) from Thursday (June 5) to Saturday evening. Temperatures will rise from Tuesday. Tourists may find pleasant weather with cool nights in the areas of Ziarat and Kalat.
Due to the heatwave situation in the province, the public, especially children, women and senior citizens, are advised to take precautionary measures, avoid going out in direct sunlight.

Stay hydrated during the day. Farmers are especially advised to take extraordinary care of their livestock and crops. Livestock transporters are advised to carry out their work preferably during the night. All concerned authorities are requested to remain alert during this time.
