First-ever Balochistan Women Games 2025 begin in Quetta

QUETTA: For the first time in the province’s history, the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Balochistan, has launched the Balochistan Women Games 2025 with great enthusiasm.

The event, currently underway at the Ayub Sports Complex, has seen a vibrant and energetic participation from female athletes, adding excitement to the atmosphere.

On Tuesday, thrilling and competitive matches were held in various sports, including futsal, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, cricket, teqball, and handball. Women athletes from across Quetta showcased their talent and received loud appreciation from spectators.

Speaking to the media, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Dura Baloch and Director General Muhammad Yasir Bazai said the event was made possible under the instructions of the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the vision of the Sports Advisor. They stated that the aim of the games is to provide equal opportunities to women in sports and to introduce talented female athletes of the province at the national level.

They described the participation of women as highly encouraging and said that such events will continue in the future. They further added that these competitions will open new doors for women’s involvement in sports.

The participating athletes called the Women’s Games a “golden opportunity.” They said the event not only gave them a platform to showcase their skills but also provided a valuable chance to learn from other players. They demanded that such events be held regularly to ensure women continue to progress in the field of sports.

The Balochistan Women’s Games will continue until May 31.
