ISLAMABAD: After being promoted to the rank of Field Marshal, Asim Munir expressed gratitude in his statement, saying:
“I thank Allah for this great honor, and I am grateful to the President, Prime Minister, and the federal cabinet.
This honor belongs to the entire nation and is a trust of the people of Pakistan. Millions of Asims have sacrificed for this country.
This is not an individual recognition, but a tribute to the entire armed forces. I dedicate this honor to the civilian and military martyrs and veterans.”
It is worth noting that the government has promoted General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal — the highest and most senior five-star rank in the armed forces, above the General rank. He becomes the second Field Marshal in Pakistan’s history after Ayub Khan.

According to the federal cabinet, General Asim Munir led the Pakistan Army with courage and valor, synchronizing military strategy and operations with remarkable efficiency. Under his leadership, Pakistan achieved a decisive and significant victory.
