Fake ‘Balochistan Army’ account exposed as Indian propaganda tool

QUETTA  A recent controversy has erupted on social media after it was revealed that the Twitter account “@BaluchFighter”, operating under the name “Balochistan Army”, was not run by anyone from Balochistan or even Pakistan.

Instead, according to Swedish academic and analyst Ashok Swain, the account is controlled by a Hindutva group member from Bihar, India.

This individual falsely claimed to represent Baloch voices and resistance while spreading anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan narratives.

One viral tweet from the account claimed, “We Balochistanis do not follow Islam. We only worship Maa Hinglaj…” — a statement clearly aimed at misrepresenting the religious identity of the Baloch people.

However, a separate tweet, appealing for the unsuspension of another account, accidentally revealed the true identity of the handler as “Bhumihar Sagar”, further supporting claims of inauthenticity and manipulation. This incident highlights how misinformation is being spread using fake identities to incite division and discredit Pakistan on international platforms.
