QUETTA: A heatwave continues to grip Balochistan as most parts of the province experience hot and dry weather, with temperatures soaring well above seasonal norms.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, southern districts are expected to bear the brunt of extreme heat, accompanied by strong, dusty winds in the coming days.
The Met Office has advised residents to take precautionary measures, especially in areas vulnerable to heatstroke and dust-related health issues.
City-Wise Temperature Overview:
According to the Met Office, Sibi has recorded the highest temperature at a sweltering 46°C, followed closely by Turbat at 43°C. The provincial capital Quetta recorded 37°C, while Kalat reported 34°C.
Zhob experienced intense heat at 40°C, while the relatively cooler hill stations Quetta and Ziarat stayed at 27°C.
Temperatures in Nokundi reached 42°C, and Chaman recorded 39°C.
Coastal regions remained relatively moderate, with Gwadar and Jiwani registering 35°C and 34°C, respectively.
Meteorologists have warned of strong and dusty winds in the southern belt, which may disrupt visibility and worsen conditions for those with respiratory ailments.

In a separate and unfortunate incident, a young girl lost her life in Usta Muhammad due to an adverse reaction to a medical injection. Local authorities are investigating the case, and a medical inquiry is expected to determine responsibility and prevent similar occurrences.
