QUETTA: The visas have been issued under the Chief Minister Youth Skill Development and Overseas Employment Program to 61 young men from Balochistan for employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The visas and travel documents were formally handed over to the selected candidates during a special ceremony organized by the Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (B-TEVTA).
Furthermore, the initiative is part of the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who has focused on the provision of dignified employment to the province’s youth as a top government priority.
The program aims not only to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for young people but also to strengthen the national economy through skilled overseas employment.
In this regard, the Managing Director B-TEVTA Hamoodur Rehman said that young people working abroad serve as ambassadors of youth. He stressed that ensuring respectable employment opportunities for youth is a key objective of the Balochistan’s government.
He described the Chief Minister Youth Skill Program as the first and a unique initiative of its kind at the national level, designed to align local skills with international labor market demands.
Meanwhile, Hamoodur Rehman mentioned that the remittances sent back by overseas workers play a vital role in improving the living standards of their families and contribute significantly to the country’s economic stability.
He added that the process of sending skilled youth abroad has been further accelerated so that a larger number of young people can benefit from the program in the coming months.
The selected candidates have undergone technical and vocational training to meet international employment standards. The program focuses on equipping youth with market-relevant skills, ensuring compliance with overseas employment requirements, and facilitating transparent and merit-based selection.
However, Director B-TEVTA Ghulam Mustafa Raisani, along with other senior officers and staff of the authority, was also present at the ceremony.
