ْQUETTA: The 40th spiritually uplifting Provincial Quran Recitation and Memorization Competition was held in Quetta under the auspices of the Department of Religious Affairs, Auqaf Wing, Government of Balochistan. Distinguished Huffaz (Quran memorizers) and Qaris (reciters) from across the province participated, captivating the audience with their soulful and melodious recitations.
The chief guest of the event was former Secretary of Religious Affairs, Syed Abdul Manan Agha. Other notable attendees included Deputy Secretary of Religious Affairs Attaullah, Dr. Qari Abdul Rasheed, and other esteemed figures. In his address, Syed Abdul Manan Agha congratulated the top-performing participants and their parents, stating that this competition reflects the dynamic cultural heritage of Islam.
He emphasized the collective responsibility of introducing the younger generation to the teachings of the Holy Quran so they can contribute positively to society under its guidance.
Dr. Qari Abdul Rasheed and other speakers highlighted that such recitation competitions not only promote understanding of the Quran but also serve as a key to success in this life and the hereafter.
They noted that the Quran’s teachings have dispelled darkness and granted humanity enlightenment and guidance. Practicing these teachings can transform the world into a haven of peace and harmony.
It is noteworthy that winners in each category will be sent to Islamabad to represent the province in the national-level Quran Recitation and Memorization Competition.
