AMSTERDAM: Pakistan and India have been drawn in the same group for the 2026 Hockey World Cup, setting up a high-profile clash between the rivals.
The groups were announced on Tuesday in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In the men’s competition, Pakistan, India, England, and Wales are placed in Pool D. The lineup is expected to produce closely contested and high-intensity matches.
In the women’s competition, India are also in Pool D, where they will face China, England, and South Africa.
In other men’s pools, the Netherlands, Argentina, New Zealand, and Japan are in Pool A. Belgium, Germany, France, and Malaysia are in Pool B. Australia, Spain, Ireland, and South Africa are in Pool C.
In the women’s event, Pool A features the Netherlands, Australia, Chile, and Japan. Pool B includes Argentina, Germany, the United States, and Scotland. Pool C consists of Belgium, Spain, New Zealand, and Ireland.
The 2026 Hockey World Cup will take place in the Netherlands and Belgium from August 15 to August 30.
Organizers will release the full match schedule on March 18, 2026.
