Over 1.16 Million People Visit KP Tourist Spots During Eid Holidays

PESHAWAR: Tourist destinations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) witnessed an unusual surge in visitors during the Eid-ul-Ahza holidays, with more than 1.16 million tourists visiting various valleys and recreational sites in just four days, according to the provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority said Swat remained the most visited destination, attracting 333,939 tourists. Naran received 172,289 visitors, while over 110,000 tourists visited the Galiyat region.

Tourism activity also increased significantly in the merged districts, where 394,682 tourists travelled to different areas. South Waziristan received 144,000 visitors, while Orakzai recorded 92,112 tourists.

KP Tourist Spots

Officials said 166 foreign tourists also visited various tourist spots in the province during the Eid holidays.

The department said special arrangements were made on the directives of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Special Assistant on Tourism Malik Adil Iqbal to manage the large influx of visitors.

The Tourism Police and officials of the authority provided assistance to ensure smooth facilitation and crowd management at key locations.

Director General Shahid Khan said all tourism bodies remained active during Eid and worked to provide a safe and pleasant environment for visitors.
