QUETTA: A high-level meeting was convened to review the progress of development projects funded under the Grant-in-Aid for the fiscal year 2024-25. The meeting was chaired by Advisor to the Chief Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Nawabzada Mir Amir Hamza Zehri.
The session was attended by Secretary of the department Abdul Rauf Baloch, alongside senior officials representing various municipal committees, district councils, and metropolitan corporations across Balochistan. The primary agenda was to conduct a thorough assessment of the ongoing development schemes and address bottlenecks hindering their completion.
Advisor Zehri issued strict directives for the immediate completion of all stalled projects, emphasizing that delays are unacceptable and that public welfare must be the topmost priority. He stressed the need for efficient, transparent, and timely execution of all development work to ensure that the benefits reach the citizens without further interruption.
Furthermore, the Advisor instructed all concerned officials to ensure the timely and regular conduct of municipal committee meetings. He highlighted that these meetings are a crucial forum for addressing public grievances and concerns at the grassroots level, and their proper functioning is essential for responsive local governance.
The directives aim to instill a greater sense of accountability and urgency within the local government machinery. By pushing for the swift resolution of stalled projects and reinforcing the importance of civic engagement through committee meetings, the provincial government seeks to enhance service delivery and developmental outcomes for the people of Balochistan.
Meanwhile the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT), in collaboration with Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), successfully organized a major Job Fair 2025, heralded as a significant step towards a brighter economic future for the province’s youth.
The event, held with Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail as the chief guest, saw massive participation. Over 100 leading national companies set up stalls, offering more than 5,000 job and internship opportunities to thousands of attending students and graduates.
