X Takes Down Two BLA Anti-Pakistan Propaganda Accounts

QUETTA: The social media platform X has permanently taken down two accounts linked to the internationally designated terrorist group, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), also known as Fitna al Hindustan.

The move is a major setback for the group, as both accounts — Bahot Baloch and Balochistan Facts — were reportedly run from India.

Bahot Baloch, described by Pakistani authorities as a facilitator of the BLA and a serving officer of India’s intelligence agency RAW, resides in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. His real name is Deepak Negi, and he has been coordinating anti-Pakistan propaganda campaigns on social media.

Earlier this month, the X account of a pro–BLA activist Pirdan Baluch had also been permanently suspended for spreading propaganda against Pakistan’s army and state institutions.

The action follows a wave of coordinated attacks this weekend by internationally designated terrorist groups across eight districts of Balochistan.

Earlier, X had also removed the Fatima Baloch account, which was used to spread similar propaganda against Pakistan and Balochistan.

According to Pakistani officials, India has activated a widespread disinformation campaign as part of a fifth-generation hybrid warfare strategy, operating thousands of fake accounts under Baloch identities. These accounts actively spread anti-Pakistan, anti-military, and hate-filled content designed to mislead ordinary Baloch citizens and incite them against the state and its armed forces.

The campaign, officials say, serves a nationalist agenda aimed at destabilizing Pakistan’s unity. Years ago, the Global Disinformation Lab exposed India’s role in spreading thousands of social media posts daily through such fake accounts to interfere in Balochistan’s internal affairs.

RAW reportedly operates these digital networks from areas near the Pakistan-India border. Prominent handlers include Major Arjun Shukla, Deepak Negi, and others. The accounts involved in the operation bear names such as Fatima Baloch, Bahot Baloch, Balochistan Facts, and Bolan News.

In addition to digital propaganda, India is accused of providing financial and logistical support to terrorist groups including the BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army), BLF (Balochistan Liberation Front), and several other organizations active in the province.

Pakistani authorities said the removal of these accounts is a critical step in countering the ongoing disinformation campaign and disrupting the BLA’s online operations targeting citizens and security forces.
