Hyderabad, India: A woman named Varsha reached the police station in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana state, to file a complaint against her husband, Sameer Rathi.
According to the complaint, her husband runs an installment-based electronics shop where customers buy goods on easy monthly payments.
However, due to his extravagant lifestyle and flirtatious nature, the business has been suffering continuous losses.
The woman alleged that when customers come to purchase items on installments and make only the down payment, her husband sends women to collect the remaining installments.
She claimed to have personally witnessed several such women deliberately dropping their dupatta pallu in front of her husband and smiling flirtatiously.
Varsha further stated that her husband’s mobile phone contains contact numbers and morally inappropriate chats with multiple women, of which she has screenshots as evidence.
She accused him of maintaining relationships with several women while showing no interest in household matters.
The family’s financial condition has deteriorated badly, and the children’s upbringing is also being negatively affected.
She requested the police to take appropriate action.
However, the police refused to register a case, stating that having relations with other women is not a criminal offense under the law, and they are not authorized to interfere in such personal matters.
The police advised the woman to discuss the issue with her relatives so they could counsel her husband and make him realize his responsibilities.
