West Indies thrash Pakistan by 202 runs to win ODI series after 34 years

Tarouba: West Indies crushed Pakistan by 202 runs in the final One Day International (ODI) match, sealing a historic 2-1 series victory. West Indies first ODI series win over Pakistan in 34 years.

According to details, West Indies posted a commanding total of 294/6 in their 50 overs, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Skipper Shai Hope led from the front with a brilliant 120 off 94 balls, Evin Lewis (37), Roston Chase (36), and a late flourish by Justin Greaves, who smashed 43 off 24 balls to push the total close to 300.

Pakistan’s bowlers struggled for consistency. Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah picked up two wickets each, while Mohammad Nawaz and Saim Ayub claimed one apiece.

In reply of West Indies brilliant bating, Pakistan’s batting lineup collapsed under pressure, managing a mere 92 runs in just 24.3 overs.

The top order was dismantled early, and five Pakistani batters including captain Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed  failed to open their accounts.

Only Agha Salman (30) and Mohammad Nawaz (23*) showed some resistance in an otherwise dismal batting display.

The hero with the ball for the West Indies was young pacer Jayden Seales, who delivered a career-best performance with figures of 6 wickets, ripping through Pakistan’s fragile batting. Gudakesh Motie took 2 wickets and Roston Chase chipped in with 1.
