QUETTA: Security forces have recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials during a recent counterterrorism operation, according to official sources. The confiscated items indicate the scale of the planned militant activity and the level of threat that was successfully prevented.
According to the details released, the seized material includes one RPG-7 launcher along with five rockets, two M16 rifles with 29 magazines and 800 rounds of ammunition, and 20 hand grenades with 22 detonator fuses. Authorities also recovered 30 demolition explosive charge slabs (C-4), 20 STOS explosive devices, and four radio communication sets.
Among the most alarming recoveries was one suicide jacket, highlighting the severity of the planned attack.
In addition, four Laser 3R devices with two batteries, 13 UBGL rounds, two laser radium sights, three compasses, and three night-vision goggle helmet mounts were also confiscated.
Security officials further confirmed the recovery of 30 feet of black detonating cord and 51 meters of red detonating cord, along with 10 detonators.
One digital storage device (DVD) was also seized from the militants.
Sources stated that the recovery of such a large and sophisticated stockpile of weapons demonstrates the effectiveness of the intelligence-based operation.
Authorities emphasized that investigations are ongoing to trace the supply network and identify all individuals linked to this militant activity.
It is woth mentioning that a suicide bomber attempted to storm the main gate of the headquarters in Nokundi area near Taftan border and detonated himself during the attempt.
Immediately after the explosion, the Quick Response Force (QRF) launched a swift operation and engaged the attackers.
As a result, three terrorists accompanying the suicide bomber were neutralized on the spot.
The body and weapons of one terrorist were recovered from outside the main gate while he was attempting to force entry.
Security officials confirmed that the attack was carried out by militants linked to Fitna-e-Hindustan.
The clearance operation remained underway to ensure complete elimination of any remaining threats.
Authorities emphasized that all terrorists involved in the attack would be dealt with firmly and decisively.
