QUETTA: Loralai police have arrested the suspect accused of raping and injuring a seven-year-old girl within 24 hours.
The accused turned out to be a driver employed by WAPDA.
According to police, the seven-year-old girl, a resident of Loralai named Bibi Fatima, was selling biscuits in the market on March 3 when a young man on a motorcycle took her to a field.
There, the perpetrator sexually assaulted her, subjected her to violence, injured her, and fled.
Upon receiving the report, SSP Loralai Dr. Fahad Ahmed, SDPO Karim Mandokhail, and SHO Sharif Musa Khel immediately reached the scene.
The girl was shifted to the hospital for medical examination.
Police stated that the medical report confirmed the sexual assault.
Using CCTV footage and modern technology, they traced the suspect and arrested him, Muhammad Saqib, during an operation in WAPDA Colony, Loralai, the previous day.
The accused is a driver at WAPDA, and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, DIG Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh praised the Loralai police team’s performance, announced rewards for them, and stated that protecting the public is the police’s top priority.
