US weapons in hands of terrorists in Balochistan

The American newspaper The Washington Post published a report titled “American weapons for the Afghan war are giving Pakistani militants a deadly advantage”.

According to the report, the terrorists who attacked the Jafar Express in Bolan used American-made weapons. It revealed that the attackers used American rifles, including an M4A1 manufactured by the U.S. arms company. The report says that these weapons had been provided by the U.S. government to Afghan forces.

The weapons left behind after the withdrawal of the United States and other international forces from Afghanistan are now not only in the hands of the Afghan Taliban but have also reached terrorist groups involved in attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

According to security and defence analysts, recent terrorist incidents in the region have been carried out using these leftover American weapons, which have significantly strengthened terrorist activities.

Pakistan has raised this issue multiple times at the United Nations and directly with the United States. Several UN agencies have also linked the rising incidents of terrorism to the weapons held by armed groups.

Terrorist organisations operating in Balochistan are reportedly backed by foreign powers, and Pakistani security agencies have repeatedly exposed these conspiracies.

Most recently, Pakistan’s security forces uncovered another Indian-backed network operating in Balochistan. Last week, the security forces arrested RAW agent Ashok Chaturvedi near the Pak-Iran border, accused of funding terrorism via cryptocurrency in Balochistan.
