WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a stark warning over ongoing operations against Iran. He said more devastating strikes could follow in the coming days.
Rubio urged American citizens in the Middle East to immediately contact their nearest US embassies. He said about 1,600 Americans have requested assistance to evacuate the region.
He revealed that a drone fell inside the compound and parking area of a US consulate. He said American diplomatic facilities are facing direct threats. He accused Iran of targeting US embassies across the region.
Rubio reiterated that the United States will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon. He warned that an Iranian nuclear capability would pose extremely dangerous consequences.
He said the United States will not allow Iran to hide behind its ballistic missile program. He stated that US Central Command is actively working to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities.
Rubio said two of the world’s most powerful air forces are participating in the joint operation. He pledged that Washington will continue operations until it achieves its objectives.
He said Iran’s nuclear capability, missile program, and navy are among key US targets. He added that three major objectives are close to being achieved.
Rubio credited President Donald Trump with choosing the right moment to act against Iran. He said delaying action could have made it far harder to stop Tehran in the future.

He acknowledged that airspace closures have created challenges. He said the joint operation was designed to overcome those obstacles and ensure mission success.
