Strait of Hormuz will remain closed: Mujtaba Khamenei

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The United States has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification or location of several senior Iranian leaders, whom it has designated as “terrorist leaders.” The announcement, made through the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, specifically targets figures within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the country’s highest security circles .

Among those listed is Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new Supreme Leader. The State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service released a banner naming key individuals, including Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Ali Asghar Hejazi, a former deputy chief of staff to the late Supreme Leader .

The list also features high-ranking military and security officials. Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a senior military adviser to the Supreme Leader, has been named, alongside Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni . According to the US government, “These individuals command and direct various elements of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which plans, organizes and executes terrorism around the world” .

The Rewards for Justice program, which has historically offered bounties for figures like former al-Qaeda leaders, is seeking information that could disrupt these networks . In a significant incentive, the US has also offered to relocate individuals who provide credible information to a safe location. The State Department has encouraged potential informants to reach out through secure channels, including encrypted messaging platforms like Signal and a tipline based on the Tor network .

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing military actions involving the US, Israel, and Iran, following the death of the previous Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and the subsequent appointment of his son, Mojtaba Khamenei .
