Pakistan has vast minerals reserves: US Journal

WASHINGTON: A US Journal has revealed that Pakistan holds vast minerals reserves and the area enriched with the minerals is spread to 230 thousand sq mile.

These minerals reserves are two times larger than the whole area of UK and they are of an immense significance globally.

According to the American Journal, Foreign Policy, According to Foreign Policy Magazine, international investment and bilateral agreements in Pakistan’s mineral sector will bring economic, technological, and social benefits to both Pakistan and the participating countries.

The magazine reports that Pakistan has formulated its National Mineral Policy 2025 to ensure the effective utilization of its mineral resources, with benefits expected to reach the people of Pakistan—especially those in Balochistan.

The U.S. publication noted that special emphasis will be placed on promoting infrastructure, employment, and social development in rural areas of the provinces.

In line with this, graduates from Balochistan have been sent abroad for training under the Reko Diq program.

The report added that the efficient use of mineral reserves will create new opportunities for social and economic progress in Pakistan.

Under the National Mineral Policy, the country aims to achieve long-term growth and self-reliance through the sustainable use of its natural resources.

The magazine further highlighted that international cooperation and technology sharing are expected to advance Pakistan’s mining industry, affirming the growing global recognition of the country’s mineral potential.

Balochistan is rich in natural minerals, holding some of Pakistan’s most valuable resources such as copper, gold, coal, chromite, and marble.

Major mining sites like Reko Diq, Saindak, and Chagai are known globally for their deposits of copper and gold.

The province’s mineral wealth has immense potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and support industrial development.

Recent national policies and international collaborations aim to ensure sustainable extraction and fair distribution of benefits to local communities.

With proper management, Balochistan’s mineral sector can become a cornerstone of Pakistan’s economy and promote long-term prosperity in the region.
